Today we will see 11-20 of the Life List. Some of these things could be easily accomplished. How fun it will be when I actually get to cross something off the list!
11. Spend a long weekend on Mackinac Island. Seeing as we are a 14 hour drive away from MI. And Mackinac is about a 10 hour drive away from home in MI, I see this as about as challenging as making the Germany visit.
However, I am hoping someday to do this. Mackinac is such a neat place, but I think you really appreciate it more the older you get....
12. Have a family reunion.
13. Turn my master bedroom into my "dream" bedroom. We're getting close!
14. Hike some of the Appalachian Trail. I'm not sure I really want to sleep over night on the trail though. I'm way too worried about bears. And murderers. So I'm thinking day trip(s).
15. Cook a whole chicken in the oven. I know. Mom, stop rolling your eyes. It's just that I don't get it. Granted, I haven't tried. But when you can buy a rotisserie just as easily, it seems silly to put forth the effort. I do make a splendid Beef Wellington -- so that should make up for this ridiculous lack in culinary effort.
16. Make a dessert from scratch. Like a cake or something cool. With real ingredients. Nothing boxed. Just once, just to see if I can do it.
17. Figure out the perfect smoothie recipe, and eat one (drink one?) regularly. I know I know, again, I must sound like some dolt. But every time I try to make one, I just never like it. A lady at work I know makes an awesome one, but she just throws things in here and there, and I've tried that...with unhappiness. I'm going to have her come over to my house and make it. Maybe I'll video her while she does it....
18. Go camping with the whole family. Our favorite campsites are for sure in Michigan. The one time Chris and I went down here (pre-children) we didn't really care for it, but I think it would be fun to do with everyone. I think Baby Belle needs to be a bit bigger though, so this might be a couple of years....
19. To have less than one month's paycheck in debt at any one time, except the mortgage. I read this on someone else's Life List, and really liked this idea. We do not have a lot of debt at all, but are still paying off maternity bills, etc., and I just can't wait to try to make this goal a reality.
20. To teach my children simple phrases in many different languages. I love doing this with my students, and they love it too. I just need to get on the ball and start it at home!
