Allowances? Ha! We want our children to learn the ethics of a good hard day's labor!
Notice the child...forced to work manual labor in conditions too hot for clothing...with only the light of a single bulb...made to stand until the clouds she is painting are perfect -- "I want a bunny -- no, make it a dinosaur -- more fluff!" (Incidentally, she is not painting clouds on our bathroom wall.)
She toils...
and through it all, still musters some semblance of happiness...
Some of the other urchins aren't as lucky.
Until rescued by their loving parents, thrown in the tub,
and happiness is restored in the kingdom!
Clara looks like she could be one of the Greek statues that they have at the DIA with the blanket so perfectly placed. Did you have to tell her to put it there?

Well she'd be an awfully dirty one. I am lucky to just get a photo of Clara looking at the camera. I have to take what I can get.
