I was in my trailer (ugh, classroom...'learning cottage' as the higher ups call it) without air all day, now I know what sardines in a can sitting in the trunk of a car in the middle of the desert in August feel like. They spend half of what is called winter down here freezing me out so I wear a coat all day and the kids have to wear gloves while writing, and then have us sit in a sauna in the spring. 5th graders can be known to be unpleasant enough BEFORE you put them in a hot sweaty metal box, not only are they prone to unpleasantness after, but they smell bad too.
I was hoping, just hoping I could enjoy a little spring. That means anything under 80, for a little while. However, I do happen to notice that the greater metro-Detroit area is experiencing a bit of warmth right this moment as well. In fact, depending on east-side versus west-side (Michigan people, you know what I'm talking about) it is about a degree warmer on the west side than it is here right now. And, if you know us, in our attempts to weave green & economical living, we set our thermostat waaaaaay up so that the air doesn't come on until the eggs are frying themselves. Kidding kidding, of course. Or, unless my mom comes to visit and complains about how hot it is. Because she never wears anything that comes above her wrist...or calf. okayokay. I'm done. Stop rolling your eyes mom. I'm sure Chris is wondering what happened to me, I am actually hiding because Greta will not stop talking and it is driving us insane.... So if this post is random, sorry. At least when he asks where I've been I can say I've been blogging. I better go rescue him, he gets to go to work tomorrow, I don't know who has it better.... :) I need a cool glass of water, and then I think there's a couple of beers in there too. I think I'll go get us some, relax, try and tune Greta out and just veg.
